Community Grants

Ronald McDonald House Charities, Morgantown doesn’t just support families of critically ill children. We believe in being an active member of our community and supporting other non-profit organizations that better the lives of children. We do this through our Grant Program. RMHC Morgantown funds grants up to $5,000 to organizations that meet the necessary criteria.

We are able to grant funds to eligible organizations through individual, corporate and foundation donations. We also receive help in grant funding through our McDonald’s Owner/Operators and generous donors at their restaurants across our region. Each time change is dropped in a RMHC Donation Canister at the counter or drive-thru window at a McDonald’s in our region, that money comes directly to our House and helps fund our grant program. A little change can change a lot!

Interests
RMHC Morgantown is interested in programs that…

  • Directly serve children.
  • Offer clear goals and objectives.
  • Display consistent and effective management and a broad use of funding support.
  • Reach out to multiple communities in an attempt to serve as many children as possible.
  • Promote collaborative efforts between many non-profit organizations.
  • Request funds for tangible expenses that can be used from year to year (i.e. equipment).
  • Provide education and arts hands-on-learning.
  • Promote general health.
  • Serve special populations.

Restrictions
RMHC Morgantown will not provide support for the following types of organizations or activities:
  • Advertising or fundraising drives
  • Partisan, political or denominational programs
  • General and administrative costs
  • Intermediary funding agencies
  • Endowment campaigns
  • Ongoing salaries or travel expenses
  • Public or private schools
  • Pharmaceutical research
  • Playgrounds

Application Process
  1. Applications must be submitted directly to RMHC Morgantown staff or through your local McDonald’s restaurant.
  2. Once your application is received, an acknowledgement will be sent.
  3. A RMHC Morgantown representative may conduct a site visit.
  4. A decision letter will be sent within 90 days of proposal receipt.
