Pop Tabs:
Collecting Pop Tabs is a great way to recycle and help the Morgantown Ronald McDonald House! Collect tabs from pop cans or any other aluminum cans and drop them off at the House. We will recycle the tabs and use the money we make from this to help with our every day expenses. Read on to learn more about how these tiny tabs can make a huge difference.
Why do we save pop tabs?
With everyone working together, our Pop Tab recycling program provides a wonderful fund-raiser for the Ronald McDonald House! Each year, our recycling program creates about $14,000 to help us cover operating costs.
Why not recycle the whole can?
Pop tabs are efficient and effective for a Ronald McDonald House recycling program because these tabs are the most dense and purest form of aluminum within the can. At our House, we do not have enough space to store the aluminum cans.
What happens to the pop tabs once RMHC receives them?
When you bring your tabs to the House in any kind of container, our volunteers dump them into large trash cans. Once we have collected approximately 1,000 pounds of pop tabs, our volunteers take the tabs to the scrap metal dealer, who gives us money based on the weight and the current market value of aluminum.
Where can I take my pop tabs?
Drop off your pop tabs at Ronald McDonald House Charities, 841 Country Club Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505. We are located beside the WVU Football Stadium and across from Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Printer Cartridges:
RMHC Morgantown also recycles printer cartridges! Drop off your empty inkjet or toner cartridges to the Morgantown Ronald McDonald House and we’ll send them to be recycled. Our House receives $2 per cartridge. It’s a great way to help the planet and our Ronald McDonald House.
